Karachi, April-6: Fire & Security Pakistan 2006, which will showcase a vast spectrum of safety, security and protection equipment, and its associated Conference programme will be held from May 17~20 at the Expo Centre, Karachi.

This international exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Interior Government of Pakistan as well as Board of Investment, in addition to a number of leading private sector trade organizations and associations.

According to the organizers, Fire & Security Pakistan 2006 is the definite answer to the increasing demand in corporate and residential markets, as it services the need for a broad-based acquisition of sophisticated safety, security and surveillance equipment at the governmental, institutional and individual level. The exhibition is organized by Pegasus Consultancy (Pvt.) Ltd.

More than 50 leading machinery and equipment manufacturers from 15 countries including USA , China and UAE are taking part in the exhibition, which is expected to draw the attention of more than 15,000 trade professionals and key decision makers.


FPAP, APSAA Support Fire & Security 2006

Karachi , April 3: Fire Protection Association of Pakistan (FPAP) and All Pakistan Security Agencies Association (APSAA) are supporting 2 nd International Fire & Security Exhibition.

This international exhibition is also supported by the Ministry of Interior, Government of Pakistan as well as Board of Investment.

The four day show and its concurrent Conference Programme will be held from May 17 to 20 at the Karachi Expo Centre.

Fire & Security Conference will bring the latest information to the rapidly developing corporate sector in Pakistan together with developing an understanding towards the internal and external threats under the theme of "Industrial Safety & Security Concerns in Pakistan ".

POGEE, Fire & Security Pakistan 2006 Opens Today;

Governor Balochistan Inaugurates

Karachi , May 17: Governor Balochistan, Owais Ahmed Ghani, inaugurated the 4 th Pakistan Oil, Gas & Energy Exhibition & Conference, POGEE 2006, co-locating International Fire & Security Exhibition, at the Karachi Expo Centre today.

In his address at the inaugural ceremony Mr. Owais Ahmed Ghani deeply appreciated the team of Pegasus Consultancy for their dedicated efforts towards the industrial development of Pakistan . The ceremony was attended by a number of key officials and personnel from private and public sector organization, both local and foreign. He added that the Government fully supports the foreign companies that are investing in oil and gas sector of Pakistan and in this regard 100 licenses have been issued to different international companies for exploration in Pakistan especially in Balochistan.

"Balochistan is rich in oil, gas and minerals deposits and a lot of work regarding exploration of the two is going on in the province", said Mr. Owais Ghani. "Recently Mari Gas company has succeeded to discover some reservoirs in the Northern part of Balochistan. Also a joint venture of two Canadian companies in cooperation with Government of Balochistan to discover more deposits is in process. The said project is the 7th largest copper project in the world", he further added.

Talking about the exhibitions, he said that it is an important event to showcase latest technologies in Pakistan as well as in the region and a platform to promote investment in respective sectors of the country.

Prior to the Governor's speech, Mr. Aasim A. Siddiqui, Managing Director of the organizing company Pegasus Consultancy welcomed the exhibitors and attendees in his opening speech. He said that both the shows have attracted tremendous growth within short span and have attracted more than 200 companies from 22 countries of the world.

He informed the attendees that the oil, gas and energy sector of Pakistan have been growing at a much faster pace than the average GDP growth. He further added that Pakistan has now become the 3rd largest consumer of natural gas in the transport industry and it is poised to become one of the largest producers of natural gas in the world.

Later, Mr. Owais Ahmed Ghani formally inaugurated the exhibition and visited the stalls spread over four halls of the expo center. He met with the foreign and local exhibitors and showed keen interest in the exhibits showcased at the exhibition.

Along with the key decision makers from corporate and public sector, the attendees also included diplomats from Saudi Arabia , Germany , Bahrain , Italy , Russia and Belgium .

In addition to the exhibition, a two-day POGEE Conference Programme is an important feature of the event, which will be addressed by more than 20 eminent speakers from local and international oil, gas and energy industry. Scheduled on May 18 & 19 at Marriott Hotel, Karachi , the conference will be inaugurated by Mr. Noman Sehgal, Advisor to the Chief Minister.

The two co-located shows, POGEE 2006 and F & S Pakistan 2006 will conclude on May 20 where large scale trade deals and joint ventures are expected to take place between government and private sector organization from all over the world.


3rd International Oil, Gas & Energy Conference Opens in Karachi

Karachi , May 18: Advisor to the Chief Minister, Noman Sehgal, inaugurated the 3 rd Pakistan Oil, Gas & Energy Conference today at Karachi Marriott Hotel. The two-day POGEE Conference Programme is being held as an important feature of the exhibition.

The four day show POGEE 2006 co-locating Fire & Security Pakistan 2006 are going on in Karachi Expo Centre from May 17 to 20, 2006 .

The POGEE Conference is being held under the theme "Global Energy Requirements; Innovating for Regional Development". Prominent speakers from local and international organizations, institutions and government departments will address the attendees.

" Pakistan is the 2 nd largest country having deposits of minerals, oil and gas. The energy sector plays a vital role in growth of GDP of any country. And the Government of Pakistan welcome and encourage the foreign investment in this sector of the country", said Mr. Noman Sehgal. "We really appreciate the companies already working in Pakistan to explore the reservoirs and as a representator of the Government I assure that we will support all the companies that want to invest in every regard", he added.

He thanked all the local and international participants for their support and participation in the event. He also appreciated the efforts of Pegasus Consultancy in bringing the name of Pakistan on international level.

Managing Director of Progas Pakistan Limited, Mr. Abbas Bilgrami chaired the first session of the conference. In his keynote address, he said that despite all the problems in the LPG market today caused by pricing anomalies, the stage has been set for a take off in this sector. He further said that Pakistan is experiencing the beginning of an exciting and dynamic period in the growth of the LPG industry and this growth is a harbinger of a better and more productive and prosperous period in Pakistan 's energy sector.

The conference started with the welcome address given by Mr. Aasim A. Siddique, Managing Director of Pegasus Consultancy (Pvt.) Ltd., who highlighted the spectacular success POGEE has gained over the last four years and its contribution to the energy sector of the country as well as the encouraging response from international investors.

The conference programme as been split into three sessions in order to accommodate the multi-faceted participation and diverse, yet unified interest of the energy sector companies at the event. One session was held during the first day of the conference. The first session was held under the topic " Expanding Frontiers - A Step towards Gas Economy".

Mr. Azim Iqbal Siddiqui - Sr. General Manager SSGC was one of the prominent speakers at the first session of the conference. In addition the conference on the first day also gained participation of international speakers from organizations playing key role in the region's energy industry. These included Mr. Antony Middleton - Managing Director Advanced Engine Components Ltd. Australia, Mr. Valter Quercioli - GE Oil & Gas Italy, Mr. Sean Guichon - Engineered Systems Sales Manager Algas SDI International USA and Mr. Daniel O'Neil - Senior Associate Ashurst UK .

Begum Nasreen Jaleel, City Naib Nazima, also visited the co-located exhibitions that started on May 17 and will continue till May 20, 2006 . She met with the exhibitors and expressed interest in the products showcased at the exhibition. She showed appreciation towards the regular holding of such shows and appreciated the efforts of Pegasus Consultancy for making the shows a success. More than 200 companies from over 22 countries are participating this year in the two co-locating shows, POGEE 2006 and Fire & Security Pakistan 2006.

The exhibitors, such as Haseen Habib Trading and Corporation, Homeland Securities, Safety Apparels, DuPont, City Link Dedicated Micros and many more, daily conduct Technical presentations to promote their products and demonstrate their technical capabilities.

The fire department of City District Government Karachi is holding a daily demonstration to show their capabilities to handle all kinds of fire using their latest equipments. Begum Nasreen Jaleel witnessed today's fire extinguishing demonstration.

The four-day co-locating exhibitions, POGEE 2006 and Fire & Security Pakistan 2006, are a success as they are attracting a large number of trade delegations and corporate visitors from the energy sector as well as diplomatic corps representing countries from across the globe. The visitors from upcountry like Lahore, Hyderabad, Faisalabad, Multan and Islamabad also visited the exhibition.


POGEE, Fire & Security Pakistan 2006 Attract Trade Visitors

Karachi , May 19: The two co-located shows, POGEE 2006 and Fire & Security Pakistan 2006, on their third day were visited by the professionals, key decision makers, Government officials and perspective investors of the region's respective industry to explore new business ventures in Pakistan .

Exhibitors of Fire & Security Pakistan 2006 are very satisfied especially companies from UAE and China as few of them have already registered themselves for F & S 2007. They have scheduled business meetings during the exhibition and were sure that these meetings will explore profitable business opportunities for their future growth in Pakistan .

Some exhibitors of POGEE 2006 have also rebooked even larger space for next year's show, POGEE 2007. A number of deals of million Euros were signed between the exhibitors and the buyers from local and international industry.

The key industry players that showed their keen interest in the machineries that Pakistan has to offer also visited the exhibitions. Machineries have also been sold onsite that reflect the manufacturing competency that Pakistan possesses in the sectors of energy and fire & security.

One of the highlights of the exhibition is the onsite live firefighting and control demonstration by Fire Department of City District Government Karachi. Along with the said demonstration Meraj Limited also arranged a rescue demonstration from a blazing car using some hydraulic equipments.

In addition to the exhibition, the second day of 3 rd POGEE Conference started with its first session which was chaired by Mr. Shahjahan Mirza, Director - Private Power and Infrastructure Board, where he spoke under the subject of "Initiating Power & Coal Project Development". He talked about the latest in technology and services offered by Pakistan and the developments going on regarding the specific industry.

Third Session of the Conference under the topic "Renewable Technologies for Global Growth" was chaired by Air Marshal (R) Shahid Hamid, Chairman AEDB. Mr. Noman Sehgal, Advisor to the Chief Minister, was the Keynote Speaker for the third session.

The international speakers at the conference included Mr. Andrew McKillop - European Commission Brussels, Mr. Syed Muzammiluddin - Lecturer Maulana Azad National Urdu University India , Mr. Philip Patman - GLOBELEQ UK , Mr. Ron Ton - PRC Global Pte. Ltd. Singapore .

The large number of decision makers attended the conference from mining, refining, supply and distribution companies operating in the region. The conference, that concluded today, further ensures the success of Pakistan 's oil, gas & energy exhibition and the quality and magnitude of the participants.

The organizer, Pegasus Consultancy, also arranged a Gala Nite for the exhibitors and the visitors on May 19 that was enjoyed by the attendees. Mr. Qamar Mansoor, Provincial Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sports, was the Chief Guest at the Gala Nite.

The exhibitions will conclude on May 20 with promising opportunities for lucrative investment in the highly productive and thinly competitive field of oil, gas and energy sector. The next exhibition of POGEE and Fire & Security Pakistan 2007 is expected to draw an even greater turnout from the international participants, according to the orgaisers.


POGEE, Fire & Security Pakistan 2006 Conclude Successfully in Karachi

Karachi , May 20: The two co-located shows, POGEE 2006 and Fire & Security Pakistan 2006 concluded in Karachi on May 20,2006 after making their success and gaining immense response from two industries. The exhibition was held under full support of Board of Investment, Ministry of Interior, NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), FPAP (Fire Protection Association of Pakistan ) and APSAA (All Pakistan Security Agencies Association).

More than 200 exhibitors from 22 countries participated in the exhibition that was attended by large number of highly targeted trade visitors from corporate and business sector of the country.

The exhibition has attracted participation from Italy , USA , India , Iran , Germany , Belgium , Singapore , UK , UAE, Azerbaijan , Sweden , Saudi Arabia and Russia with Russia being the biggest participation in the show.

On the fourth day, Ambassador of Belgium, Mr. Patrick Renault, along with First Secretary of the State, Christophe Paylt, visited the exhibition and they also met with foreign and local exhibitors and showed keen interest in the showcased exhibits. Director General of JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), Mr. Hiroyuki Miyakawa also visited the exhibition.

All the foreign and local participants found their involvement fruitful and expressed satisfaction on the context made with the trade delegations and industry experts during the four days of the shows. Most of the exhibitors of POGEE 2006 and Fire & Security Pakistan 2006 have registered themselves for even larger space at POGEE 2007 and Fire & Security Pakistan-2007.

A number of exhibitors of F & S Pakistan 2006 conducted a live demonstration of their high tech fire control and suppression equipment in the outdoor area of the exhibition centre during four days of the show, which was witnessed by the attendees with great interest.

In addition, MoUs have been signed for transferring technology in Pakistan regarding respective sectors. Advance technologies and machineries, displayed at the exhibition, were highly appreciated by industry leaders visiting the show.

The forth Pakistan Oil, Gas & Energy Exhibition 2006 co-locating International Fire & Security Pakistan 2006 ended on a positive note, with promising results, not only for the local exhibitors but also for the participating international companies and visitors. The next show of POGEE and Fire & Security Pakistan is scheduled in May 2007.
