KARACHI, May 4: The city government will procure another snorkel, capable of fighting fires in buildings as tall as 40 stories, and 20 fire tenders with an estimated cost of Rs499 million to equip the fire brigade department on modern lines.
City Nazim Mustafa Kamal has said that the Sindh government has already given approval to the city government and after the approval of the federal government the machinery will be procured. <more>
Fire-fighting service to be launched on 25th
LAHORE , May 4: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi has said an international-standard fire fighting service will be launched in the provincial metropolis on May 25. Another 12 cities will have the facility later on.
Presiding over a high-level meeting held here on Friday to review the progress on establishment of the Rescue-1122 and fire fighting service centres in various cities in Punjab , he said the latest facility would be equipped with modern gadgetry and manned by trained staff to cope with any emergency. <more>
International standard fire fighting service from May 25: CM
LAHORE , May 4 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister, Ch.Pervaiz Elahi has said that an international standard fire fighting service will be launched in Lahore on May 25 which will be equipped with modern fire fighting equipment and trained staff to deal with any emergency situation including accidents.
He said that after the success of Rescue-1122 emergency service in the provincial metropolis, 37 modern centers of emergency and fire fighting service are being set up in 12 cities of the province including Multan, Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan, Sahiwal and Rahim Yar Khan in Southern Punjab so that timely relief and medical assistance could be provided to the citizens. <more>
