Mercure Grand Hotel Karachi Airport will open on April 1st 2007 and will bring an attractive European addition to the Karachi Airport district. The hotel will be located in the Civil Aviation Security Zone, a short 5 minutes away from the Jinnah International Airport Terminal.

Pakistan keen to sign extradition treaty: PM
ISLAMABAD , Jan 15: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said on Monday that Pakistan valued its multi-faceted relationship with Australia and was keen to further consolidate cooperation in a broad spectrum of areas, particularly trade, investment, education, agriculture, agribusiness and livestock.

Pakistan, UAE agree to enhance bilateral ties
RAHIM YAR KHAN, Jan 11: Pakistan and United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday held wide-ranging discussions on regional and international issues and agreed to expand cooperation, specially in energy, investment, trade, manpower, defence and security sectors.

PR to invite tenders for signalling system
LAHORE, Jan 31: The Pakistan Railways will be inviting fresh international tenders on Feb 20 to replace the existing signalling system on its network while ignoring a bona fide contractor that has a Letter of Indent (LoI) revived twice to carry out the project.
The LoI was first signed on July 3, 2003, after four rounds of tenders, participated in by two Chinese companies, sources said and recalled an agreement for the award of contract was signed in the presence of President Pervez Musharraf and his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao in Beijing on Nov 3, 2003. <more>
Ibad calls for study about rising road accidents
KARACHI , Jan 25: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has described the increase in road accidents a matter of concern and stressed the need for a study regarding the loss of precious lives and those injured in accidents.
Presiding over a high-level meeting at the Governor's House on Thursday, he called for immediate identification of 10 such points where accidents had taken place in a series during the last 10 days. <more>
Rs. 6.3 billion motorway project approved
ISLAMABAD , Jan 17: The National Highway Council has approved the Motorway M-9 project, connecting Karachi and Hyderabad costing about Rs6.3 billion.
The decision was taken in the council's meeting.
Federal Minister for Communication Muhammad Shamim Siddiqui chaired the meeting which was attended by secretary communicationTariq Mehmud, secretary finance division Tanveer Ali Agha and chairman National Highway Authority Maj Gen Farrukh Javed. <more>
